RU11 Signs the GRIUN London Statement

Japan’s Research University 11 (RU11) has joined the global network of leading research universities to sign the GRIUN London Statement, adopted at the annual meeting of the Global Research-Intensive Universities Network (GRIUN), held in London on February 26–27, 2026.
The joint statement reaffirms the enduring importance of the GRIUN’s shared core values in education and R&D at a time of heightened geopolitical tensions worldwide. Signatories also committed to continued collaboration in the areas of free speech and academic freedom, artificial intelligence (AI), innovation and commercialization, and research security.
The GRIUN London Statement has been signed by the following groups, collectively representing 156 universities:

・German U15 (Germany)
・Group of Eight Australia (Go8) (Australia)
・League of European Research Universities (LERU) (Europe)
・Research University 11 (RU11) (Japan)
